Broken Girl

Broken girl
didn't need you to break her more
Her first love lost at sea
bereft as the waves
which wanted her not
And you dashing as night
and black as Erebus
drowning in her still blacker pools
Her heart was not yours
to know or bear
unworthy marauder
The cold fire of her pen
from which flowed furious beauty
was not enough to sustain her
Anything but hollow
she found her beloved
in blackness and silence
Longing for peace
always on the edge of a dream
blame not him, blame not her
Poet, Shaman
beautiful, beautiful
broken girl...
